Brighton's Estupinan Signs for AC Milan

Ecuadorian international Pervis Estupinan has completed a £17 million transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion to Serie A giants AC Milan, signing a long-term contract until 2030. The deal includes potential add-ons that could increase the total transfer value.
The 27-year-old left-back established himself as a key player at Brighton after joining from Villarreal in 2022. During his two seasons with the Seagulls, Estupinan made 104 appearances and contributed five goals, helping the club achieve historic European qualification in 2023.
Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler praised Estupinan's contributions: "I've thoroughly enjoyed working with Pervis. He's been an important player for us and played a significant role in the club's recent successes. At this stage of his career, he's ready for a new challenge in Serie A."
Estupinan's football journey includes:
- Initial move to England with Watford in 2016 (no senior appearances)
- Breakthrough at Villarreal, including 2021 Europa League triumph over Manchester United
- Successful Premier League spell with Brighton (2022-2024)
Last season, the dynamic defender made 34 Premier League appearances as Brighton finished eighth in the table. His departure marks the end of an important chapter for both player and club, as Estupinan seeks to make his mark in Italian football with AC Milan.
