Tactical Analysis: Where Madueke Fits at Arsenal
By Tom McCoy, BBC Sport
Madueke's versatility could prove invaluable for Arsenal:
Right Wing Option
- 88% of his Premier League minutes came on the right flank
- Would provide crucial rotation for Bukayo Saka
- Similar playing style - cuts inside to shoot with left foot
- Saka has been overworked (108 starts in 114 league matches 2021-24)
Left Wing Potential
- Finished last season playing on the left for Chelsea
- Started 4 of Chelsea's final 5 Premier League matches there
- Impressed for England on left wing against Andorra (assisted winner)
- Could compete with Martinelli and Trossard
- Offers more direct threat than current options
Statistical Comparison (2023-24 Premier League)
- More shots per 90 than Martinelli/Trossard
- More dribbles attempted per 90
- Carried ball significantly further distances
